MIAMI (WSVN) – As fans trickle into South Florida to attend the seven World Cup matches being held at Miami Stadium, a hotel in downtown Miami is hosting an event where guests can travel the globe without ever leaving the city.<\/p>\n
InterContinental Miami\u2019s experience, called \u201cPassport To The Cup,\u201d allows guests staying at the hotel to tap into the tournament\u2019s international flair, complete with country-themed cocktails, cuisines, cabanas and more.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s absolutely an immersive Miami experience as well as the World Cup experience,\u201d said Glenn Sampert, the hotel\u2019s general manager.<\/p>\n
Hotel officials said that from the moment guests enter the hotel, the FIFA fiesta begins.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s around the hotel, so from the arrival experience, coming through the front doors of the hotel, there\u2019s a great photo opportunity in the lobby,\u201d said Sampert. \u201cWe have globally inspired cocktails in our Toro Toro bar.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the Toro Toro bar, bartender Carlos is mixing cocktails from around the world for fans.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is going to be the Colombia cocktail for the \u2018Passport To The Cup,’\u201d he said. \u201cThen I\u2019m going to top it with some passion fruit pearls. Viva Colombia!\u201d<\/p>\n
For yummy eats, the hotel offers a variety of dishes inspired by the 48 countries participating in the matches.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe beautiful InterContinental Club Lounge has different plates that are inspired by different countries that are participating,\u201d said Sampert.<\/p>\n
The festivities aren\u2019t only reserved for the food and bar. At the poolside, the hotel hosts themed cabanas for fans to watch their favorite country play.<\/p>\n
\u201cScotland, Portugal, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, United States of America and Colombia!\u201d said Gina Genna, the hotel\u2019s director of marketing.<\/p>\n
Genna said fans will be in a prime location by staying at the InterContinental.<\/p>\n
