Agriculture Commissioner\u00a0Wilton Simpson<\/a> is one of the most effective fundraisers in the state, and he\u2019s not letting a vulnerable field slow him down as June begins.<\/p>\n

During the first 12 days of the month, he raised $70,000 to his campaign account, which now has more than $307,000 on hand.<\/p>\n

But hard money is just the tip of the iceberg.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Friends of Wilton Simpson<\/a> political committee has more than $10.2 million banked, with nearly $56,000 raised between June 1 and June 12.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Florida Green PAC<\/a>\u00a0has nearly $11 million on hand.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Future Florida<\/a> political committee has nearly $12 million on hand.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Home Grown PAC<\/a> has more than $300,000 on hand.<\/p>\n

Simpson did not actively raise money for the latter three political committees during the 12-day reporting period.<\/p>\n

The incumbent, who was first elected in 2022 after serving as Senate President, faces nominal competition both for the nomination and in the General Election.<\/p>\n

Matt Taylor<\/a> of Plant City raised a little more than $22,000 during the same period, giving him almost $64,000 to spend.<\/p>\n

Democrats\u00a0Joey Mendoza Atkins and\u00a0Don Prichard self-funded to get on the ballot and neither has more than $8,500 on hand.<\/p>\n
