The freshman crossed the finish line with a USATF meet record and Florida school record time of 4:04.59, overtaking the previous meet record of 4:14.74 from 2012 set by Mary Cain, the youngest female athlete to ever represent the United States at a track &amp; field world championship.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe title makes Stegall the fourth member of the Gators&#8217; active roster to hold a USATF U20 national championship, joining <a href=\"https:\/\/floridagators.com\/sports\/track-and-field\/roster\/gracelyn-leiseth\/18009\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"18009\" target=\"_blank\">Gracelyn Leiseth<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/floridagators.com\/sports\/track-and-field\/roster\/vance-nilsson\/18017\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"18017\" target=\"_blank\">Vance Nilsson<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/floridagators.com\/sports\/track-and-field\/roster\/india-alix\/17992\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"17992\" target=\"_blank\">India Alix<\/a>. Leiseth won two titles in 2024, taking both the discus and shot put, while Nilsson claimed the 400-meter hurdles crown. Alix was the long jump champion in 2022.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nAlso competing on the international stage, <a href=\"https:\/\/floridagators.com\/sports\/track-and-field\/roster\/tia-wilson\/18033\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"18033\" target=\"_blank\">Tia Wilson<\/a> (1500 meters) and <a href=\"https:\/\/floridagators.com\/sports\/track-and-field\/roster\/malique-smith-band\/18026\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"18026\" target=\"_blank\">Malique Smith-Band<\/a> (400 meters) will take the track Saturday and Sunday at the Novuna United Kingdom Athletics Championships in Birmingham, while <a href=\"https:\/\/floridagators.com\/sports\/track-and-field\/roster\/quincy-penn\/18022\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"18022\" target=\"_blank\">Quincy Penn<\/a> competes Saturday afternoon at the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations Youth, Junior &amp; Senior National Championships.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nAt the Athletics Kenya National Championships, <a href=\"https:\/\/floridagators.com\/sports\/track-and-field\/roster\/judy-chepkoech\/18039\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"18039\" target=\"_blank\">Judy Chepkoech<\/a> qualified for 5000-meter run final, placing fourth in her Thursday heat with a time of 15:32.09.
