JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 Miguel Berry recorded two goals and one assist as the Charleston Battery took a 5-2 victory against Sporting Club Jacksonville on Saturday night at Hodges Stadium, sending the Battery up to second place in the USL Championship\u2019s Eastern Conference standings.<\/p>\n
After a two-and-a-half hour lightning delay, the Battery took the lead in just the 12th minute when an errant pass allowed Maalique Foster to gain possession and round the goalkeeper before finishing into an open net. Charleston doubled its lead less than two minutes later when Jeremy Kelly fired home a low shot from 20 yards into the bottom-right corner of the net, while Berry completed a run of three goals in seven minutes for the visitors as Foster\u2019s cross from the right deflected to Colton Swan, who laid a pass back for the veteran to shoot home from 15 yards.<\/p>\n
Jacksonville responded with goals either side of halftime by Kuzain, who scored his first goal in the league this season a minute before halftime as he put home a low cross by Tyshawn Rose from the left side. The former Sporting Kansas City Homegrown player then added a second two minutes into the second half as he fired home to the left corner after a good setup by Emil J\u00e4\u00e4skel\u00e4inen. The Battery quickly restored their two-goal advantage through Berry in the 53rd minute, though, as the visitors knifed through Jacksonville\u2019s defense, allowing Wilmer Cabrera to find Berry alone in the right side of the penalty area to finish. <\/p>\n
Jacksonville was reduced to 10 players with nine minutes to go as Ryan Edwards received his second yellow card of the night, and a minute later Alec Hughes wrapped up the result for the visitors, putting home the rebound after Berry\u2019s free kick had rung the left post.<\/p>\n
