A reformer-based pilates chain announced plans Monday to open a new studio in Water Street Tampa, the $3 billion wellness-focused, waterfront neighborhood in the city\u2019s downtown.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Washington, D.C.-based fitness brand Solidcore has signed a deal with Water Street developer Strategic Property Partners for a 2,675-square-foot studio at 912 E. Cumberland Ave. The new pilates studio is scheduled to open in fall 2026, according to a release.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAs Water Street Tampa continues to grow, we\u2019re focused on bringing in the kinds of amenities and experiences that residents, office tenants and visitors want most,\u201d says Josh Taube, chief executive officer of Strategic Property Partners, in a release.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Founded in 2013, Solidcore now operates more than 175 studios across the U.S., including one in Tampa\u2019s Hyde Park neighborhood and another in St. Petersburg. The brand is known for its 50-minute, high-intensity, low-impact resistance training workout performed under blue LED lighting and set to loud music. Solidcore uses a custom, spring-loaded reformer machine to keep muscles under constant tension as users work through a series of exercises \u201cspecifically designed to work your muscles to the point of failure,\u201d building strength over time, according to its website.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Solidcore won\u2019t be the only fitness studio in Water Street Tampa. Orangetheory Fitness opened a studio in the mixed-used development in November 2022 on the street level of the Cumberland Avenue parking garage.\u00a0<\/p>\n
