Baker High School and 2023 graduate of FGCU, is graduating with her master\u2019s degree in athletic coaching from Florida State University. She is a teacher at Gulf Elementary and a tennis teaching pro at The Courts Cape Coral. She is the director of junior tennis at The Courts.<\/p>\n<p>Jake Ellis, a 2022 graduate of Ida S. Baker High School and 2025 graduate of FSU, is graduating with his master\u2019s degree in criminology from Florida State University. He played club baseball at FSU for 4 years and currently works at a law firm in Tallahassee.<\/p>\n<p>Both siblings will graduate July 31.<\/p>\n<p>Magas named to Spring 2026 Deans List<\/p>\n<p>at the University of Alabama<\/p>\n<p>TUSCALOOSA, Ala. \u2014 Macy Magas of Cape Coral was named to The University of Alabama Deans List for Spring Semester 2026.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 14,306 students enrolled during Spring Semester 2026 at The University of Alabama were named to the\u00a0dean\u2019s list\u00a0with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the\u00a0president\u2019s list\u00a0with an academic record of 4.0 (all A\u2019s).<\/p>\n<p>The UA dean\u2019s and president\u2019s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Alabama, part of The University of Alabama System, is the state\u2019s flagship university offering over 200 degree programs. This peer-nominated award recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in collaboration through effective communication, idea-sharing and teamwork. The award reflects Lasell\u2019s emphasis on collaboration as a core learning outcome and a key career readiness competency identified by the National Association of Colleges &amp; Employers.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1851, Lasell, a private, liberal arts university, offers bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s and graduate degrees in several disciplines. For more information, visit https:\/\/www.lasell.edu\/<\/p>\n<p>CROW accepting applications for Summer Camp<\/p>\n<p>Registration is open for the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife\u2019s 2026 Conservation Summer Camp, a program for students in kindergarten through eighth grade focused on wildlife, conservation and applied science learning.<\/p>\n<p>The camp gives participants an up-close look at Southwest Florida wildlife and conservation through activities, like wildlife hospital tours, habitat-building projects and encounters with wildlife ambassadors. Students learn basic veterinary skills through demonstrations and supervised activities, including suturing labs.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, campers in grades 2-8 may participate in age-appropriate dissection labs, like owl pellets, starfish, frogs and rats. <\/p>\n<p>The following camp sessions are planned for July:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Plovers (grades K-1, age 5 and older): July 8 (Life in Water)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Royal Terns (grades 2-4): July 13-16<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Crows (grades 5-8): July 20-23<\/p>\n<p>Camp hours are 8 a.m. to noon for grades K-1 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for grades 2-8.
