Walker | Clay Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nancy J. Walker, 89, of Fleming Island, Florida, passed away April 27, 2026. Nancy was born March 10, 1937 to John and Eleanor Rupert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Nancy is survived by her husband Bill, their daughter, Cynthia (Cyndie), her sister Jacqueline (Jackie), grandchildren Jennifer Luman Noto (Michael), Michelle Luman Demery (Adam) 5 great grandchildren Max and Emery Noto and AJ, Layla and Amelia Demery as well as numerous nieces and nephews. <br \/>Nancy and her family moved to Green Cove Springs, Florida in 1953 where she attended local schools. After Nancy graduated from Clay High in 1955, she went on to study nursing at St. Luke\u2019s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida where she received her nursing degree in 1958. <br \/>Nancy married her best friend and love of her life, William (Bill) Walker that same year. They were married 68 years. Nancy practiced nursing in various areas including hospitals, private practice, public health and ultimately as an educator with the Vocational Program with Clay County Schools. She was able to share her knowledge and guide numerous students towards the medical field. Nancy retired from the school system in 1999 and was able to then devote more time to her love of arts and crafts such as crochet and scrapbooking. She was also an accomplished musician, playing the piano and organ. She was an amazing and loving soul and we will miss her dearly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Nancy J.
