TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – City of Tallahassee leaders, family and former students celebrated a street designation for Maggie Lewis-Butler on Monday.<\/p>\n
The City of Tallahassee Commission voted in April to honor her by designating part of Jim Lee Road.<\/p>\n
Butler served Leon County Schools for 30 years, teaching science and adult education courses, according to the City of Tallahassee meeting agenda. She also was an adjunct professor in biology at Florida A&M University. <\/p>\n
Lewis-Butler also served on the Leon County School Board for 22 years. According to the City, at the time of her retirement, she was the longest-serving school board member.<\/p>\n

Jim Lee Road from E. Magnolia Drive to Saddle Creek Run will be known as Maggie B. Lewis-Butler Honorary Roadway.<\/p>\n
