During our many visits to the airport, we\u2019ve come up with several rules that make traveling through Orlando International Airport (MCO) easier \u2014 including some security tips that could seriously help you the next time you\u2019re at MCO!<\/p>\n

\"Disney<\/a><\/p>\n

Utilize TSA PreCheck and CLEAR+<\/p>\n

TSA PreCheck and CLEAR+ both help you blitz through the airport security process for a price.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a9AP<\/p>\n

TSA PreCheck is government-run and allows travelers to go through a separate line with a more relaxed screening process, as you don\u2019t need to remove shoes, belts, and light jackets. Laptops and liquids are also allowed to stay in your carry-on.<\/p>\n

PreCheck costs about $85 for a 5-year membership.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a9Clear<\/p>\n

CLEAR+ is privately owned and uses biometrics to allow you to bypass the general security line. Members can visit a CLEAR kiosk, verify their identity, and then get escorted to the front of the security screening. A membership costs\u00a0$199 per year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a9CLEAR<\/p>\n

Often, folks will pair BOTH of these memberships to make the airport experience super easy.<\/p>\n

Use MCO Reserve<\/p>\n

MCO Reserve <\/a>is a FREE service exclusive to the Orlando International Airport that allows you to pre-register for a time slot to go through security.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a9Orlando International Airport (MCO)<\/p>\n

This service can be accessed from 5 AM to 5 PM daily if your flight is between 6:30 AM and 8:30 PM. MCO Reserve is NOT available for Clear+ or TSA PreCheck passengers.<\/p>\n

Arrive 2 Hours Before Your Flight<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t plan on using any sort of fancy security service and are flying domestically, arrive at the airport\u00a0at least\u00a02 hours before your flight.\u00a0This way, you can account for long TSA lines.<\/p>\n

\"\"Orlando International Airport<\/p>\n

For international flights, arrive at least 3 hours before the flight.<\/p>\n

Go Right<\/p>\n

If your flight is in Gates 1 through 59, we recommend going right to the security checkpoint on the right.<\/p>\n

\"\"Orlando International Airport<\/p>\n

For these gates, the line on the right has security dogs and generally moves a little faster.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t Underestimate Morning Crowds<\/p>\n

If you think that flying a morning red-eye means you\u2019ll skip right on through the security line, you\u2019re sorely mistaken.<\/p>\n

\"\"Orlando International Airport<\/p>\n

TSA can be understaffed before 6 AM, which ultimately means longer lines. Also, keep in mind that Orlando is the theme park capital of the world \u2014 the airport is ALWAYS going to be busy.<\/p>\n

Avoid the Gatelink<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re going through Gates 70 through 129, don\u2019t take the Gatelink that goes to the international terminals.<\/p>\n

If you make this mistake, you will have to tram back and go through security twice.<\/p>\n

Check the MCO App<\/p>\n

When in doubt, check the MCO app!<\/p>\n

\"\"Orlando International Airport crowds<\/p>\n

The app provides information like\u00a0food options and security wait times,\u00a0giving you a full grasp on what to expect at the airport.<\/p>\n

Bring a Backup Phone Charger<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve actually had instances where we were checking our phones so much before going through security that they died and needed to be charged!<\/p>\n

\"\"INIU Portable Charger<\/p>\n

That\u2019s where a portable charger comes in handy. It\u2019s generally a good idea to travel with one of these, as you never truly know when you might desperately need one.<\/p>\n

Be Aware That Terminals A and B Are Connected<\/p>\n

As a heads up,\u00a0Terminals A and B are connected at MCO.<\/p>\n

\"\"Terminal B at Orlando Airport<\/p>\n

You can literally just walk across the hall to each terminal, as it\u2019s all the same room with an A side and a B side!<\/p>\n
