TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Decorated women\u2019s soccer player, Crystal Dunn is headed to Tallahassee this weekend to spend time with the Reckoning soccer team and attend the team\u2019s home game on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Dunn, who retired in January, was the ultimate winner during her career. She won a college national championship with North Carolina,a world cup title, and an Olympic gold medal; not to mention countless additional individual awards.<\/p>\n
A player with a resume like this is bound to help the Reckoning just by their presence, and Dunn now has the time to be here in person.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow in retirement, it\u2019s just amazing that I have the time and the capacity to get involved in things that I find a lot of value in,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Reckoning founder Ashlee Fontes was with the Washington Spirit during Dunn\u2019s time playing for the NWSL team. Now Dunn says she feels like her career is coming full circle.<\/p>\n
She says she\u2019s excited to get to Tallahassee and take in the Reckoning experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m actually someone who always weirdly roots for underdogs and I think Tallahassee is kind of that market that maybe isn\u2019t on everyone\u2019s radar, but has so much potential to really break barriers and basically showcase what the amazing people in the community have fought for, for all this time,\u201d said Dunn. \u201cI think it\u2019s great. I have so much hope and belief that this team is going to be exactly where they need to be down the road.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Reckoning face Sporting Jax on the road on Tuesday, before returning home for the regular season finale against Fort Lauderdale United FC on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Kick off is set for 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
