After spending days transforming parts of Boston into what many fans described as a “mini-Scotland,<\/a>” members of the famed Tartan Army have traded New England streets for South Florida beaches, bars and sweltering temperatures.<\/p>\n Fans have been gathering across Miami, from Little Havana to Ocean Drive, many sporting traditional kilts despite temperatures reaching the mid-90s, according to a report from WSVN<\/a>. Samuel Adams said its Boston Taproom sold four times its normal volume of Boston Lager over a four-day stretch, forcing an emergency delivery to replenish supplies. Another popular downtown pub reportedly tripled its typical St. Patrick’s Day sales before selling out of beer entirely.<\/p>\n And it’s not just beer that’s disappearing.<\/p>\n Scottish supporters have also continued a quirky tradition that dates back decades in Glasgow: placing traffic cones on top of statues<\/a>. The custom originates from the Duke of Wellington statue in Glasgow, which is frequently seen wearing a traffic cone and has become an unofficial symbol of the city.<\/p>\n Scotland enters Wednesday’s final group-stage match with one win and one loss.
