TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The search for the driver involved in last Wednesday\u2019s high-speed chase<\/a> that weaved through the capital city has ended in an arrest.<\/p>\n

Court records show that Zachary Read, 36, was arrested Monday in Leon County. While the circumstances of Monday\u2019s arrest have been made public, the Leon County Jail website lists FHP as the arresting agency.<\/p>\n

Arrest documents show Read faces 10 felony counts for Wednesday\u2019s chase, including felony fleeing\/eluding, driving with a suspended license, and eight counts of leaving the scene of a crash.<\/p>\n

Helicopter footage of the chase<\/a>, obtained by WCTV last Thursday, shows a car, suspected to be driven by Read, hitting several vehicles as he tried to evade law enforcement. Arrest papers said Read reached speeds over 100 miles an hour at certain points during the chase.<\/p>\n

Arrest documents also detail FHP ended Wednesday\u2019s chase just after 5:30 p.m., noting they lost sight of him in the area of Capital Circle SW and Blountstown Highway.<\/p>\n

According to the documents, Tallahassee Police confirmed that Read was the driver. They also informed FHP during the chase that Read\u2019s vehicle \u201cwas possibly linked to a stabbing\u201d last Tuesday. A TPD officer later clarified to state troopers that the stabbing happened \u201cat the Circle K off of Crawfordville Rd and Capital Circle.\u201d<\/p>\n

TPD officers were conducting surveillance on the car Wednesday afternoon at a home on Dunn Street. According to the arrest affidavit, officers saw \u201ca white male with matching characteristics and tattoos as Read enter the driver seat\u201d. TPD requested FHP\u2019s assistance in the chase shortly after it began.<\/p>\n
