(WALB) &#8211; Two Florida residents were arrested after Grady County deputies say they were caught street racing at more than 100 miles per hour over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the Grady County Sheriff\u2019s Office, deputies observed two drivers racing on Highway 319 South on Saturday. Authorities said the vehicles were clocked traveling at 101 mph.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The sheriff\u2019s office said the drivers had traveled approximately 161 miles from Jacksonville, Florida, before being stopped in Grady County.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Two Florida drivers arrested after deputies catch street racing at 101mph in Grady County\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/3FYY46LNJVBXVN76NDDV4DHAZA.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Two Florida drivers arrested after deputies catch street racing at 101mph in Grady County(Grady County Sheriff&#8217;s Office)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Both drivers were issued traffic citations and taken into custody before being transported to the Grady County Jail, according to deputies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Sheriff Earl Prince said the incident serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with excessive speeding and reckless driving.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cAt 101 mph, a vehicle becomes more than transportation\u2014it becomes a potential weapon,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said in a statement.
