{"id":317035,"date":"2026-06-23T17:06:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T17:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/317035\/"},"modified":"2026-06-23T17:06:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T17:06:11","slug":"orlando-event-features-horse-therapy-for-seniors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/317035\/","title":{"rendered":"Orlando event features horse therapy for seniors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 A miniature horse named Sugarfoot will help provide emotional support to older adults during a community event in Orlando this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Senior Resource Alliance is partnering with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.minitherapy.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.minitherapy.org\/\">Honey\u2019s Mini Therapy Adventures<\/a> to provide equine therapy during a Family Day event at the Renacer Foundation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at 1801 Rouse Road in Orlando.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Organizers said Sugarfoot will interact one-on-one with seniors who are recovering from recent hospitalizations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The program is meant to help older adults dealing with anxiety, stress and loneliness.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/https:\/\/cloudfront-us-east-1.images.arcpublishing.com\/cmg\/YIPAUVZANJDRHIIFJEF5WVB4HY.png\" width=\"1440\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"ImageMetadata__MetadataParagraph-sc-1htor29-0 jibCgM image-metadata\">Sugarfoot Organizers said the goal is to help older adults build meaningful connections in the community. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Local youth will also take part in the event by singing and playing bingo with seniors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Organizers said the goal is to help older adults build meaningful connections in the community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The miniature horse therapy portion of the event is scheduled from 12:05 p.m. to 12:50 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Interview and visual opportunities include Sugarfoot meeting with seniors, older adults taking part in equine therapy, attendees playing bingo and local youth singing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seniorresourcealliance.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.seniorresourcealliance.org\/\">Senior Resource Alliance<\/a> said the program is funded through Independent Living Systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\">Click here<\/a> to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
