Cherrish Nunley<\/a>, 24, on Nov. 15, 2025, in a parking lot behind a Chuze Fitness on Sunbeam Road in Mandarin.<\/p>\nNunley, a mother of a 5-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son, died at the scene before officers arrived, just weeks before what would have been her 25th birthday.<\/p>\n
According to the redacted arrest report, Campbell, who was identified as \u2018RJ\u2019 in the report, is the father of one of Nunley\u2019s children, but the report did not specify which child was his. The report also said Nunley was involved in a custody dispute with both of her children\u2019s fathers at the time of her death.<\/p>\n
A Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office detective who arrived at the scene spoke with a witness who reported seeing a black crossover parked near the fence line with its lights off. Additional details provided by the witness were redacted from the report, but the witness also provided police with a description of Campbell.<\/p>\n
The witness attempted to follow Campbell\u2019s vehicle after the shooting, but Campbell sped away before the witness could catch up to him, according to the report.<\/p>\n
The report also said a detective received a call from Campbell\u2019s brother, who lives in Phoenix, Arizona. He told investigators that his brother had contacted him the previous day with information related to the shooting.<\/p>\n
He also told investigators that his brother drove a black Hyundai Santa Fe with a Florida tag that was registered to Campbell\u2019s grandmother, according to the report.<\/p>\n
The Sante Fe matched the vehicle\u2019s description that the witness reported to police as well, leading to the BOLO alert.<\/p>\n
Campbell was booked in the Duval County Jail on May 31, nearly seven months after the incident.<\/p>\n
