(WCJB) &#8211; The Florida Board of Governors will meet on July 1 to decide whether Dr. Stuart Bell will be the permanent president of the University of Florida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Alan Levine, the chair of the Board of Governors, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcjb.com\/2026\/06\/18\/bells-uf-presidency-vote-delayed-state-board-reviews-trustee-authority-delegation-concerns\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wcjb.com\/2026\/06\/18\/bells-uf-presidency-vote-delayed-state-board-reviews-trustee-authority-delegation-concerns\/\">initially postponed<\/a> the vote, which had been scheduled for Thursday, over concerns about UF trustees\u2019 Chair Mori Hosseini.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">On Monday, the UF trustees made <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcjb.com\/2026\/06\/22\/uf-trustees-unanimously-approve-stuart-bell-interim-president-amid-ongoing-governance-dispute\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wcjb.com\/2026\/06\/22\/uf-trustees-unanimously-approve-stuart-bell-interim-president-amid-ongoing-governance-dispute\/\">Bell the interim president<\/a>, replacing Dr. Donald Landry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Levine now says he is satisfied after having \u201cproductive conversations\u201d with UF trustees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcjb.com\/newsletter\/\" title=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Click here<\/a> to subscribe to our newsletter.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WCJB.
