Jacksonville\u2019s nine-member Downtown Development Review Board is once again full after City Councl approved the nomination of Ivy Henderson to the board on June 23.<\/p>\n
Henderson, nominated through Resolution 2026-0546, replaces DDRB member Joseph Loretta for a partial term expiring June 30, followed by a full, two-year term.<\/p>\n
Council voted 16-0 on the resolution, with President Kevin Carrico and members Ken Amaro and Raul Arias absent.<\/p>\n
Henderson is the director of housing and real estate development of LIFT JAX, a nonprofit supporting Jacksonville\u2019s Eastside neighborhood. She previously was a park planner and designer for the city, according to her resume.<\/p>\n
Henderson required a waiver to allow her on the board as a landscape architect. DDRB\u2019s bylaws require that the board include members from certain backgrounds, including as a landscape architect, architect, urban planner, contractor, developer or Realtor who does work Downtown, or a Downtown property owner.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Henderson is not licensed as a landscape architect but holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Florida.<\/p>\n
Her full name as shown on her resume is Gayandrial Ivy Henderson.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She joins Ivy Mote as recent appointments to the DDRB after Council approved Mote\u2019s appointment on June 9. Mote replaced VyStar Credit Union lobbyist Matt Brockelman.<\/p>\n
The mayor\u2019s office is responsible for making all appointments to the DDRB. The DDRB meets on the second Thursday of each month, next meeting on July 9.<\/p>\n
