{"id":31746,"date":"2025-11-03T20:14:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T20:14:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/31746\/"},"modified":"2025-11-03T20:14:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T20:14:10","slug":"23-year-old-woman-dies-after-jumping-out-of-pickup-truck-onto-interstate-95-in-port-st-lucie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/31746\/","title":{"rendered":"23-year-old woman dies after jumping out of pickup truck onto Interstate 95 in Port St.Lucie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">A 23-year-old woman died after police said she jumped from a moving car on Interstate 95 over the weekend in Port St. Lucie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police said the incident happened at about 1:05 a.m. Saturday on I-95 northbound at mile marker 118.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Investigators said a preliminary investigation revealed that a light green 2017 Dodge Ram pickup driven by a 24-year-old Port St. Lucie man was traveling northbound on I-95. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The only other occupant of the pickup was the front passenger, a 23-year-old woman from Port St. Lucie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police said both the passenger and the woman were returning from a Halloween celebration in West Palm Beach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">While they were driving, police said the woman was on her phone speaking with a friend and told the friend she was going to jump from the pickup truck. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to investigators, moments later, the phone went dead and it is believed that the woman jumped from the pickup onto the roadway and sustained fatal injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police said the 24-year-old man driving the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has video is urged to contact Detective Giaccone at (772) 807-4401 or Treasure Coast Crimestoppers at (800) 273-8477.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 Scripps Media, Inc.
