JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KATV) \u2014 An employee with the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District has been suspended after an allegation of them having inappropriate contact with a former high school student was reported to state and local authorities last week. <\/p>\n

In a letter to families Wednesday, district officials said they met Tuesday with detectives from the Jacksonville Police Department and believe there is sufficient information to begin disciplinary proceedings against the employee.<\/p>\n

The employee, whose name has not been released, remains barred from all district campuses and is prohibited from having contact with students while the investigation continues.<\/p>\n

The district first notified families last week about allegations involving a current employee and a former Jacksonville High School student<\/a>. Officials said the report was made to authorities June 9, but investigators have not determined when the alleged conduct occurred and have not released details about the allegations.<\/p>\n

District officials are asking any current or former students with concerns about interactions with the employee to contact the Jacksonville Police Department.<\/p>\n

The request specifically applies to Jacksonville High School band students who participated in the program from 2022 to the present, recent Jacksonville High School media team students, and Jacksonville Middle School band students who participated between March and May 2026.<\/p>\n

According to the district, the employee worked primarily at Jacksonville High School but also served in a temporary role at Jacksonville Middle School from March through May. School officials said that information prompted them to notify Jacksonville Middle School families in addition to high school families.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information related to the investigation is encouraged to contact the Jacksonville Police Department at 501-982-3191 and ask for Detective Jones or Lt. Blackerby.<\/p>\n

The district said it is cooperating with investigators and has provided records, materials and video footage requested by law enforcement.<\/p>\n
