Suspects charged in January robbery of Cape Coral jewelry store, DOJ says<\/p>\n

The suspects accused of breaking into a Cape Coral jewelry store<\/a> and holding the manager at gunpoint in February have been charged in a superseding indictment, according to the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, the defendants, Ivel Sanchez Rivera, Osmani Barrios Carrera, Yunior Lopez Delgado and Alberto Perez Elias, were charged with the following:<\/p>\n

Conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robberyInterference with commerce by robberyUse, carry and brandish a firearm during a crime of violence<\/p>\n

Court documents say that back in January<\/a>, the suspects entered the store, Tio Jewelers, through the wall of a vacant business while the store was closed. The manager of the store was reportedly held at gunpoint.<\/p>\n

The suspects stole thousands of pieces of jewelry, totaling more than $1 million, then fled to Miami before their arrest, court documents add. One suspect, Alberto Perez Elias, has not been arrested and remains at large.<\/p>\n
