New Brunswick-based Johnson & Johnson recently announced an investment of more than\u00a0$1 billion\u00a0in Jacksonville, Florida to strengthen its Vision operations by scaling\u00a0its U.S. manufacturing,\u00a0packaging\u00a0and distribution capabilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The investment includes construction of a new\u00a0state-of-the-art\u00a0distribution facility\u00a0by 2028,\u00a0alongside advanced manufacturing and packaging technologies to meet growing demand for Johnson & Johnson\u2019s\u00a0Acuvue\u00a0brand contact lenses.\u00a0The company currently manufactures more than 1.7 billion\u00a0Acuvue\u00a0contact lenses for U.S. patients.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Since\u00a0establishing\u00a0its Jacksonville presence in 1981, Johnson & Johnson has built\u00a0a strong foundation\u00a0for economic growth in the region.\u00a0The\u00a0latest\u00a0$1 billion\u00a0investment supports 3,500 Jacksonville employees and strengthens Johnson & Johnson\u2019s\u00a0$6 billion\u00a0annual economic impact in Florida, the company said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Jacksonville facility is part\u00a0of Johnson & Johnson\u2019s previously announced\u00a0$55 billion\u00a0U.S. investment in manufacturing, research and development, and technology through early 2029.\u00a0Other new manufacturing facilities include a\u00a0$2 billion\u00a0biologics\u00a0plant in North Carolina, and a\u00a0$1 billion\u00a0next-generation cell therapy manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania.\u00a0<\/p>\n
