TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Republican candidate for Florida Governor James Fishback has announced Sean Lozano will be his running mate and pick for Lt. Governor.<\/p>\n
The announcement happened Thursday afternoon inside the state Division of Elections Lobby in Tallahassee.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a friend, he\u2019s a brother and like the 50,000 sworn law enforcement officers, he has woken up, day after day and kept our state safe,\u201d Fishback said.<\/p>\n
Lozano is a police officer with the Lauderhill Police Department. He worked on violent crime and narcotic investigations. Fishback said Lozano was named Officer of the Quarter last year for his work taking violent offenders of the street.<\/p>\n

Fishback said he asked Lozano to join his ticket because he wants a trained law enforcement officer to help continue Governor Ron DeSantis\u2019s \u201claw and order wins.\u201d <\/p>\n
Lozano thanked Fishback for the trust and said they would stand with law enforcement and protect the state of Florida, with a focus on crime and affordability.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t say yes for a title. I never needed a title to run toward a problem,\u201d Lozano said. \u201cI said yes because this is the same fight I\u2019ve been in my entire life, except now it\u2019s all families across the state of Florida.\u201d <\/p>\n
Fishback is the first candidate on the Republican side of the race to announce a running mate.
