Francois said that no foul play was suspected. There have been no reports online of a homicide investigation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Protocol for ruling a death as suicide is a legal process conducted by a medical examiner. According to <a href=\"http:\/\/LegalClarity.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LegalClarity.org<\/a>, police are required to investigate all reported suicides to officially establish the circumstances surrounding the death. According to Florida statutes, a medical examiner or coroner cannot officially \u201crule\u201d a death as suicide before completing their full investigation and issuing a formal report. However, as of the time of the \u201cruling,\u201d the medical examiner\u2019s report is still pending, according to the Miami-Dade County\u2019s Medical Examiner Database.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the U.S., hanging is one of the three most common suicide methods.<\/p>\n<p>The story has garnered community attention through social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and X under the hashtag #JusticeForTonea. According to the Miami-Dade County Criminal Justice Online Case Search, Miller had a history of arrest in Miami and was charged with criminal mischief, battery, trespassing on property after warning and resisting an officer without violence. Her arrest date occurred on Feb. 14, 2025.
