{"id":321902,"date":"2026-06-27T16:14:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-27T16:14:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/321902\/"},"modified":"2026-06-27T16:14:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-27T16:14:11","slug":"summer-projects-keep-community-members-active","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/321902\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer projects keep community members active"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As many organizations take a summer break, others take advantage of fewer activities to fundraise, make plans for the coming year, and have fun with family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>The General Federation of Women\u2019s Club (GFWC) Doral West Dade Woman\u2019s Club is planning a second party bus trip to the Boynton Beach headquarters of South Florida PBS after a very successful fundraiser in April to see the Titanic Immersive Experience running through July.<\/p>\n<p>With great positive feedback from that April trip, the club will offer an even better adventure on Aug. 22 for two new virtual reality experiences running through the end of August \u2014 \u201cColosseum: The Legendary Arena\u201d and \u201cNapoleon: The Immersive Saga.\u201d The bus will depart 3 p.m. from Miami\u2019s International Mall in Doral to travel to and from Boynton Beach with guests enjoying food and drinks by R Catering (Rita Tennyson of Birdie Bistro) as well as games and prizes with emcee Steven Bradley of Vivo Sports &amp; Social.<\/p>\n<p>The price for this party bus trip with tickets for both experiences is $175 per person with proceeds benefiting the club\u2019s non-profit partners.<\/p>\n<p>For more information or to reserve seats, contact Gloria@cnews.net. Space is limited, so book early.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of PBS, for those with little children, one has only to turn South Florida PBS (WXEL and WPBT) TV for its amazing programs that keep youngsters engaged in learning while school is out. Miss Penny\u2019s field trip to NASA will be a must watch for most any age. Jeneissy Azcuy, chief of Marketing and Education for South Florida PBS was a recent guest on my Gloria\u2019s Gab LIVE show sharing information on all the great upcoming programs on their stations including SFLPBS\u2019s original series Season 18 of Changing Seas. To watch the show and learn more, go to <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/LpitLjEdtOA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/LpitLjEdtOA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In other GFWC club news, the GFWC Coral Gables Woman\u2019s Club continues its monthly Gringo Bingo, held on June 22, raising charitable dollars for the club\u2019s dental clinic and other outreach efforts.<\/p>\n<p>In May, the event attracted a great crowd and Steven Bradley, the \u201cGringo,\u201d as always made it a party and helped raise more than $1,600, half of which will be shared with the American Diabetes Association in memory of former club member Jessie Francisco.<\/p>\n<p>Team Paradise with its therapeutic sailing programs for veterans is training vets for a regatta this fall. Team Paradise founder and Olympic Gold Medalist Magnus Liljedahl and wife, Susan, were recent guests on Gloria\u2019s Gab LIVE to talk about their program and the upcoming inaugural race.<\/p>\n<p>Dates to mark on your calendar:<br \/>Now through July \u2013 Titanic Immersive Voyage presented by South Florida PBS in Boynton Beach.
