The Miami Heat<\/a> is potentially on the verge of a transformation after landing Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/a> from the Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> in a seismic trade.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Heat, in the running for the 31-year-old star for months, outlasted the Boston Celtics<\/a> in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes. Miami sent out a massive haul containing rising, young players and heavy draft capital, demonstrating its desire to build a win-now roster behind Antetokounmpo.<\/p>\n Landing Antetokounmpo could be the start of something special for Miami, but most would agree the franchise needs to make more moves before it can enter the discussion with the juggernauts of the Eastern Conference.<\/p>\n Where Does the Miami Heat Stand on a Potential LeBron James Reunion? With LeBron James\u2019 Lakers future as uncertain as ever, the Heat has emerged as the four-time NBA MVP\u2019s next team. According to Heat insider Ethan Skolnick, Miami will look into<\/a> acquiring James this offseason.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI can tell you that it is something they will explore,\u201d Skolnick said on the \u201cFive On The Floor\u201d podcast. \u201cI do know (James) has no hard feelings against the organization. I do know that for sure. That\u2019s been the case for years \u2026 I have thought he\u2019d end up in Golden State. I still think that\u2019s possible, but Cleveland and Miami are two other teams I\u2019d be looking at right now.\u201d<\/p>\n James, 41, will enter unrestricted free agency Tuesday, marking the first time in his eight years as a Laker. The latter method would be the easiest for Miami.<\/p>\n Would James take a steep financial haircut to play alongside Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo<\/a> for an organization he has great familiarity with? Many would be inclined to answer yes to that question.\u00a0<\/p>\n Had the Heat not acquired Antetokounmpo, it is unlikely James would ever come up in connection with Miami. But because the organization has one of the NBA\u2019s top five players in his prime, a player who mirrors what James was back in his day, there is reason to believe James would hold some interest in returning to the franchise he won two championships with.<\/p>\n James and the Lakers are at a contractual standstill, with some reports claiming the 41-year-old star is seeking a max contract \u2014 something the Luka Doncic-centric Lakers are believed to be unprepared to offer James at this juncture of his career.<\/p>\n Could that open the door for a James-Heat reunion?
