{"id":322305,"date":"2026-06-28T04:09:20","date_gmt":"2026-06-28T04:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/322305\/"},"modified":"2026-06-28T04:09:20","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T04:09:20","slug":"american-airlines-flight-aborts-takeoff-in-miami-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/322305\/","title":{"rendered":"American Airlines flight aborts takeoff in Miami"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>American Airlines flight aborts takeoff in Miami after business jet enters the same runway<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1782619760_825_author_avatar.png\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"Default author avatar\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>CNN \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">An American Airlines flight headed to Bermuda aborted its takeoff in Miami Saturday evening after a business jet entered the same runway, getting as close as a third of a mile apart at one point.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">American Airlines Flight 308 stopped takeoff &#8220;after receiving clearance&#8221; when the flight crew observed another aircraft on the runway, an airline spokesperson told CNN Saturday.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">Video above: New Airline Rules for Power Banks<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">A tense exchange between the business jet pilot and an air traffic controller ensued when the incident happened around 6 p.m. ET, air traffic control audio shows.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">&#8220;You just crossed an active runway,&#8221; the controller said, according to a LiveATC.com recording of air traffic control audio.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">&#8220;You just told me to cross the runway, sir,&#8221; the pilot said.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">&#8220;No, we said Amerijet 461,&#8221; the controller responds.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"7\">The aborted takeoff is the latest in a string of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/06\/25\/us\/latest-aviation-incidents\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recent aviation incidents<\/a> heading into the Fourth of July holiday.
