A video shows the man running several yards from the stopped vehicle into the surrounding vegetation while a second truck waits behind. As he climbs back in, he says: \u201cI\u2019m super sorry, I had to.\u201d<\/p>\n
The cast member driving the truck had other plans. \u201cDon\u2019t climb back up there,\u201d she told him. \u201cCome over here.\u201d<\/p>\n
The original video<\/a>, posted by Edwin Valencap (@itsedwinlv), has since amassed 3.2 million views.<\/p>\n In the background, multiple guests can be heard muttering that he\u2019s going to get kicked out of the park. Then the camera pans to the man\u2019s young son, who looks visibly confused.<\/p>\n Self-proclaimed theme park enthusiast and expert Peter Petrella (@peterpetrella) posted a commentary video<\/a> that has since gone viral. In it Petrella breaks down exactly why this was so much worse than your average theme park rule violation.<\/p>\n What is the Kilimanjaro Safaris ride?<\/p>\n The Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction at Disney\u2019s Animal Kingdom is an open-air ride through 110 acres of savanna-style habitat. There are all kinds of animals: giraffes, zebras, elephants, rhinos, and more. They roam relatively freely and the vehicles are open on the sides, so there\u2019s little separation between guests and the wildlife.<\/p>\n As one TikToker commented, \u201cThe animals are desensitized, NOT domesticated.\u201d<\/p>\n That distinction matters. Herbivores like giraffes and zebras can walk directly up to the vehicles and, while they aren\u2019t predators, any startled large animal is capable of causing serious harm. The carnivores (lions and cheetahs) are kept separated from the trucks by hidden barriers. That\u2019s one reason why people should not hop out of the vehicle and run towards the bushes.<\/p>\n Dad seen as a bad example<\/p>\n The part of the video that has stuck with most people isn\u2019t the man, but the child who had to witness his dad\u2019s behavior.<\/p>\n In the background of the original clip, a young voice can be heard: \u201cDaddy, hurry up, they are waiting for you!\u201d<\/p>\n Petrella didn\u2019t mince words.<\/p>\n \u201cNot only is the actual thing that you\u2019re doing incredibly disrespectful, incredibly dangerous \u2014 you\u2019re knowingly doing it in front of your little kid,\u201d he said. \u201cAs a parent, you\u2019re supposed to be an example. I am horrified for the child that has to experience this kind of a life, because the fact that the man was so confidently able to do this means that he likely does a lot worse back home.\u201d<\/p>\n What should he have done?<\/p>\n The most common response: just hold it.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople kept saying \u2018what was he supposed to do?!\u2019\u201d wrote lionkingheidi. \u201cUhh freaking HOLD IT.\u201d Tinkerbellsflight agreed, \u201c\u2018I had to! Ajandmomma said, \u201cThat poor kid\u2019s whole day\/trip ruined.\u201d<\/p>\n And somewhere in the background of the original video, an unidentified guest can be heard asking the question on everyone\u2019s mind: \u201cIs he gonna wash his hands?\u201d (Narrator: He did not.)<\/p>\n What happened next?<\/p>\n The original video cuts off before any official consequences are shown. According to WDW News Today<\/a>, Disney has not confirmed the guest\u2019s identity or whether he was banned. One can assume a lifetime ban from Walt Disney World is the typical consequence for exiting a ride vehicle or urinating in public.<\/p>\n Disney, Valencap, and Petrella did not respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n
