The First Project Focuses on a Roof and Carport<\/p>\n
Construction manager DJ June told MySuncoast that the first mobile-home project includes critical repairs, including a new roof and carport. He said that kind of work can be difficult for many homeowners to afford on their own.<\/p>\n
Previte called the help a lifeline and said the cost would have been difficult without the nonprofit\u2019s support.<\/p>\n
June said Rebuilding Together Greater Florida hopes to use the project as a model for more manufactured-housing repairs.<\/p>\n
The Expanded Work Goes Beyond Storm Damage<\/p>\n
June told MySuncoast the expanded mobile-home focus will also include repairs tied to health, safety, and mobility.<\/p>\n
That could make the program useful for residents whose homes need critical fixes even when the problem is not tied to one recent storm.<\/p>\n
Rebuilding Together Greater Florida says it offers critical home repairs at no cost to qualified applicants, including work ranging from roofing to accessibility modifications.<\/p>\n
The Nonprofit Says Quality Comes First<\/p>\n
June said the goal is to make sure the work is done right, not necessarily quickly.<\/p>\n
That is an important detail for mobile-home owners waiting on help. Nonprofit repair projects can depend on eligibility, funding, contractors, materials, documentation, and the condition of the home.<\/p>\n
Rebuilding Together Greater Florida says homeowners can apply for assistance through its website. The organization\u2019s application page says selected applicants go through eligibility review, an application, an intake call, a home assessment, approval, and then repairs.<\/p>\n
