Ron DeSantis, one in particular drew some attention online last month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">The problem? It\u2019s not real.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">A release apparently made the rounds online, claiming to be a release signed by DeSantis himself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">[RELATED: DeSantis gives his take on DEI after signing new ban into law]<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">That document alleges that DeSantis signed House Bill 626 into law, which prohibits \u201caimless driving\u201d in Florida as of May 15. This includes joyriding, driving without a destination, and even just \u201ccruising around.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A viral notice claiming that Gov. DeSantis approved legislation to prohibit &#8220;aimless driving&#8221; in Florida (Public Record)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">\u201cViolators may face a $1,000 fine if caught driving without a destination,\u201d the supposed release reads.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">One X post that shared the release gained over 125,000 views.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hey Ron, so I can&#8217;t just take a drive down A1A enjoying the ocean breeze on nice sunny day? <\/p>\n<p>So car registration should be removed, and insurance should be 75% lower correct?<\/p>\n<p>Tell me this fake&#8230; This is retarded if not. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Cd4ryBA8tT\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/Cd4ryBA8tT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 TYCHE BETS (@TYCHE_PARLAYS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TYCHE_PARLAYS\/status\/2055023262929666456?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">May 14, 2026<\/a> <\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">However, there is no House Bill 626 on record this year.
