SPEAKING OF HISTORY, WAS DISCOVERED DURING THE OPENING OF A 50 YEAR TIME CAPSULE AT ORLANDO CITY HALL. THIS IS A VIDEO CASSETTE TAPE OF A CHANNEL TWO NEWSCAST FROM FRIDAY, JUNE 11TH, 1976. THE KIWANIS CLUB OF ORLANDO BURIED IT AT LAKE EOLA PARK THAT YEAR AS PART OF THE NATION\u2019S BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION, AND IT REMAINS SEALED RIGHT UP UNTIL TODAY. THE CAPSULE PRESERVED OTHER ARTIFACTS LIKE AN AMERICAN REVOLUTION BICENTENNIAL SIGN. A CITY MAP FROM THAT YEAR, AND A JAR WITH OLD AUDIO TAPES. TIME CAPSULE IS A BRIDGE TO WHAT OUR CITY WAS LIKE 50 YEARS AGO, AND IT SHOWS US. The capsule was buried by the Kiwanis Club of Orlando as part of the nation’s bicentennial celebration and remained sealed until today.
