ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. \u2013 A homeowner in the Monterey and Azalea Park area says she has had two unsettling encounters with strangers showing up at her home, leaving her uncomfortable and concerned about safety in her neighborhood.<\/p>\n
The first incident happened Saturday, June 20, when the homeowner says a man came to her door early in the morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cI check and see who\u2019s at the door it\u2019s nobody I recognize. I\u2019m not expecting company and it\u2019s 6:30 in the morning,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
She says she saw the man leave and went about her day, but he returned later.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe comes back again this time he rings the doorbell a little more aggressively. First time was like ding dong. This time, it was like dinging ding ding ding,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The homeowner says the situation escalated when she heard the man move toward another entry point.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I heard him then come to this door and this was closed off like this and he was peeking in the window. He was here standing on the steps,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She decided to confront him from inside her home.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I just said hey can I help you, and he says, I\u2019m supposed to meet someone here, and I said, no you\u2019re not,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The homeowner says the man left and she called Orlando police. She says she noticed patrol cars in the area for about 15 minutes after officers arrived.<\/p>\n
Then, she says, it happened again.<\/p>\n
Fast forward to this past Saturday, the homeowner says a second man showed up at her home. She says it was around 3:30 p.m. when she caught up to him as he was walking away.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m mad at this point,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The homeowner says the second man also claimed he was supposed to meet someone at that address.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd he said he\u2019s supposed to meet somebody here and again I was swearing and he said you don\u2019t need to get rude I have text messages and I said I don\u2019t give a shhh and get outta here you\u2019re not welcome and don\u2019t come back,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She says police returned a second time to take down her report. In both cases, she says she focused on staying safe and did not ask the men additional questions.<\/p>\n
Now, the homeowner says she is working to get security cameras and is strongly considering taking a women\u2019s self-defense class.<\/p>\n
