\n\t\t\t\t\t\tFirefighters in Hobe Sound pulled a woman from a burning home Monday afternoon but were unable to save her life.Investigators said Martin County firefighters arrived on Southeast Cactus Trail, near U.S. 1, just after 3 p.m. to find the home fully engulfed in flames.”Upon arriving on scene, they were met with some heavy smoke conditions, which makes searching for victims sometimes difficult,” said District Chief Tom Hornbostel of Martin County Fire Rescue.Your neighborhood: Local coverage from WPBF 25 News Firefighters went into the home and conducted a primary search and found the woman near the back bedroom.”The victim was found unconscious, unresponsive. Our crews did an amazing job, pulled the victim out, began to resuscitate the patient,” Hornbostel said.Despite their efforts, the woman died at the hospital.Her name has not been released.In addition to battling the fire and smoke, firefighters also faced the challenges of Florida\u2019s intense summer heat.”Obviously, living here in South Florida, we know what the summertime can bring. So, we do slowly condition ourselves in the summertime. We do gear workouts.
