Major track installation continues, and more brake fins have been added to the block brake section in a nighttime construction update by @bioreconstruct<\/a> of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Florida.\"More<\/a>@bioreconstruct<\/p>\n

New nighttime photos show the latest construction progress on the upcoming coaster. The largest change is the addition of track on the far left. These new pieces of light blue-gray track form a steep turn. <\/p>\n

Three teams were also spotted working on the block brake section. More brake fins have been added to this flat section. <\/p>\n

The massive spike element remains one of the most prominent features on the site. Universal previously described the spike as sending riders nearly 17 stories into the air over the outskirts of Universal CityWalk. The spike structure stands over the lagoon-side edge of the project. The\u00a0170-foot-tall spike\u00a0<\/a>will be a dead-end, forcing the ride vehicles to stop and change direction.<\/p>\n

Later in the day, staging changed for the top two track sections of the spike, which offered a clearer view of what will be a vertical twist up and then back down.<\/p>\n

Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift replaces\u00a0Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit<\/a>\u00a0and is expected to open in 2027. One version of the coaster, however, will\u00a0open soon<\/a>\u00a0at Universal Studios Hollywood.<\/p>\n
