He parked in the fire lane at the shopping center, where parking can be scarce on the weekend.<\/p>\nWhen her fianc\u00e9 David Efron got inside, Segal said Fernandez Rundle asked him, \u201cAre you going to leave your car sitting right there?\u201d<\/p>\n
Segal posted three photos: Two showed the light gray Taycan, an electric vehicle that Porsche says retails from $111,900, sitting on the fire lane stripes in a shopping plaza. A third showed the couple in a booth, dining.<\/p>\n
Under the photos, a caption read, \u201cState attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle and her husband are so entitled that they can\u2019t even go park their car and walk to Roasters to have lunch. They parked in the fire lane right outside the front door and went in to sit casually and have their brunch.\u201d<\/p>\n
Efforts to contact Efron were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n
Parking in a fire lane is a non-criminal traffic violation that can result in towing or fines.<\/p>\n
The post got 352,000 views, and many snarky comments suggesting a call to a towing company would be a good remedy.<\/p>\n
Fernandez Rundle, when asked by the Miami Herald, said through her office that she was \u201caware\u201d of the Reddit post. In an email, she expressed regret and said the parking snafu was not related to her job. Fernandez Rundle, 72, has been head of the prosecutors\u2019 office in Miami-Dade since 1993. She was most recently elected, unopposed, in 2024.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am aware of the photo taken when my fianc\u00e9 parked the car in a fire lane as we went to lunch on Saturday,\u201d Fernandez Rundle said in an emailed response to the Herald. \u201cWe were not doing anything related to my work as State Attorney. I regret that this occurred.\u201d<\/p>\n
