(CBS12) \u2014 A Florida man fled the scene of a crash with a suitcase full of drugs after he allegedly caused a hit-and-run crash in mid-June.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orlando.gov\/Our-Government\/Departments-Offices\/Orlando-Police-Department&#039;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Orlando Police Department<\/a> said officers responded June 15 to a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Lee Vista Boulevard and South Chickasaw Trail. Officers later found the suspect shirtless and walking along the sidewalk in a residential neighborhood. Upon seeing the officers, the suspect put his hands up and got on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies deployed K-9s, which found a large suitcase containing marijuana, a firearm and a large amount of cash.<\/p>\n<p>Police said Derek Jesus Santos was booked on charges of leaving the scene of a crash, possession of cannabis with intent to sell and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ORLANDO, Fla.
