Additional videos show forensic agents working near bodies and grieving relatives moving through the port area in hopes of identifying their loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/venezuela-2283772346.jpg#.jpeg\" alt=\"Rescue Efforts Continue In Venezuela After A Double Earthquake Struck The Country \" height=\"413\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  Rescuers search for victims at a collapsed building following earthquakes that struck Venezuela and other regions in the Caribbean, June 28, 2026, in Carabellada, La Guaira, Venezuela.<\/p>\n<p>                Jesus Vargas\/Getty<\/p>\n<p>According to local media reports, the port was converted into an improvised morgue after hospital facilities in the region became overwhelmed by the number of fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, rescue operations continue.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/tag\/miami-dade-fire-rescue\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Miami-Dade Fire Rescue<\/a> Urban Search and Rescue Team, known as Florida Task Force 1, spent Tuesday searching through the rubble of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/news\/venezuela-structural-issues-deadly-earthquakes-june-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">collapsed buildings in Venezuela<\/a>. The 80-member team is operating under the coordination of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/tag\/united-states-department-of-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">U.S. Department of State<\/a> and is using specially trained dogs in the search for survivors.<\/p>\n<p>Although the critical 72-hour window for finding survivors alive has passed, many in Venezuela and South Florida refuse to lose hope.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/tag\/doral\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Doral<\/a>, volunteers at the nonprofit organization <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/news\/venezuela-earthquake-donate\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Global Empowerment Mission<\/a> (GEM) have been working around the clock, filling boxes with supplies destined for Venezuela.<\/p>\n<p>Messages of encouragement are also being included in the shipments.
