The Charmettes Incorporated celebrated its 75th National Convention in Jacksonville with a weeklong celebration of service, fellowship and sisterhood honoring the organization\u2019s Diamond Anniversary.<\/p>\n
Hosted by the Duval County and First Coast Chapters, the convention welcomed members from across the nation and show cased Jacksonville\u2019s culture and hospitality and community spirit through a series of events, leadership\u00a0 and service initiatives.<\/p>\n
Throughout the week, members participated in leadership sessions, fellowship activities, and national recognition ceremonies highlighting the organization\u2019s continued commitment to service and community impact.<\/p>\n
The Duval County Chapter was honored during the conventions sisterhood celebration with the Distinguished Engagement Award, recognizing the chapters community involvement, sisterhood initiatives and contributions toward the success of the national convention.<\/p>\n
Convention activities included a service project at Cancer Survivor\u2019s Park in partnership with the Pink Ribbon Blue Skies Foundation, Inc., as well as participation in the Red Sand Project, an initiative raising awareness about human trafficking.<\/p>\n
A highlight of the celebration was \u201cGilded Legacy\u201d at the historic Ritz Theatre and Museum, where members honored the organization\u2019s roots dating back to the 1950s origins through music, fashion, and storytelling. The festivities continued with the elegant \u201cEn Blanc and Diamonds\u201d reception and concluded with a Royal Jubilee Gala and the crowning of the Royal Court, which recognized scholarship recipients and honored outstanding chapters.<\/p>\n
Founded in 1951 in Riviera Beach, Florida, the Charmettes Incorporated is committed to scholarship, leadership, development and cancer research advocacy. The organization has contributed more than $1.1 million to Howard University for cancer research.<\/p>\n
