* IMPACTS…Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
\nextreme heat and high humidity events.<\/p>\n
PRECAUTIONARY\/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…<\/p>\n
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
\nthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.<\/p>\n
Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
\ninteriors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.<\/p>\n
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
\nfitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
\nor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
\nheat stroke.<\/p>\n
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
\nHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
\nshaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
\nshould be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
\nemergency! Call 9 1 1.<\/p>\n
