The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp returned home to VyStar Ballpark on June 23-28 to take on the Memphis Redbirds. The Jumbo Shrimp won the series 5-1.<\/p>\n
On Friday, June 26, Jacksonville pitcher Patrick Monteverde tied his season high with eight strikeouts and helped his team get a 1-0 victory.<\/p>\n
The game remained scoreless until the fourth inning when\u00a0Deyvison De Los Santos hit a single. He scored later in the inning when Rece Hinds hit a sacrifice fly ball.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, June 27, more than 6,000 fans showed up to watch Jacksonville defeat Memphis 4-3.<\/p>\n
Johnny Olmstead hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning that gave the Jumbo Shrimp life and put the score at 3-2.<\/p>\n
Jacksonville took the lead in the seventh inning when Ethan O\u2019Donnell got a double, which enabled Matthew Etzel and Jacob Berry to score.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, June 28, the Jumbo Shrimp paid tribute to the Negro American League and took the field as the Jacksonville Red Caps. The Red Caps played in the Negro American League from 1938 to 1942.<\/p>\n
Jacksonville earned a 4-1 win over Memphis on Sunday thanks in large part to Agust\u00edn Ram\u00edrez’s three-run homer in the third inning.<\/p>\n
The Jumbo Shrimp played good offense throughout this series as they continue to defend their 2025 Triple-A National Championship title.<\/p>\n
Jacksonville will return to VyStar Ballpark July 7-12 and will be celebrating Christmas in July on Sunday, July 12.
