SUNRISE, Fla.\u202f\u2013\u202fFlorida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager\u00a0Bill Zito\u00a0announced today that the club has agreed to terms with\u00a0forward\u00a0Cole Schwindt\u00a0on a two-year contract\u00a0commencing\u00a0with the\u00a02026-27\u00a0season.<\/p>\n
\u201cCole\u00a0has developed into a\u00a0well-rounded two-way\u00a0forward who fits seamlessly with our team,\u201d said Zito.\u00a0\u201cHe competes hard every night\u00a0and we\u00a0are\u00a0pleased to have him back as a part of our\u00a0strong forward\u00a0group\u00a0for the next\u00a0two\u00a0seasons.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Schwindt, 25, skated in 29 games with Florida in 2025-26, posting seven points (5-2-7) and a plus-two rating.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Kitchener, Ontario has\u00a0played in\u00a078 career NHL games between Florida (2021-22, 2025-26), the Calgary Flames (2023-24)\u00a0and Vegas Golden Knights (2024-25), amassing 15 points (6-9-15).\u00a0<\/p>\n
Schwindt has played in\u00a0218 American Hockey League (AHL) games between the Calgary Wranglers (2022-23 to 2023-24), Charlotte Checkers (2021-22)\u00a0and Syracuse Crunch (2020-21),\u00a0logging\u00a0110 points (48-62-110). He was named AHL Rookie of the Month for\u00a0the month of December 2021\u00a0after registering 10 points (2-8-10) in eight contests.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Originally selected by the Panthers in the third round (81st\u00a0overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft, Schwindt\u00a0skated in three Ontario Hockey League (OHL) seasons with the Mississauga Steelheads from 2017-18 to 2019-20, recording 138 points (55-83-138). He paced all Mississauga skaters in assists (43) and points (71) in his final season with the junior club.\u00a0<\/p>\n
