(WITN) &#8211; One police department in Eastern Carolina is reminding people to celebrate Independence Day responsibly, with a Revolutionary War-themed twist.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Jacksonville Police Department posted a Facebook skit featuring colonial characters, reminding people to drive sober, even if that means calling for a carriage rather than getting behind the wheel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">If your Fourth of July festivities include alcohol, make sure you have a designated driver, a backup ride, a charged phone, and look out for the people you\u2019re celebrating with.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The department also thanked Clove Hitch Beer Company and the Sons of the American Revolution for helping bring the message to life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Watch the full skit here: <\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WITN.
