FORT PIERCE \u2013 An area of U.S. 1 South known as \u201cdealership row\u201d will be getting a new showroom.<\/p>\n
The Fort Pierce City Commission Monday approved a major site plan review for a 40,791-square-foot new car dealership and showroom on nearly 10 acres at 5560 S. U.S. Highway 1 for a new Bev Smith Kia facility.<\/p>\n
Officials said the property is already zoned appropriately for general commercial development and will have two access points off U.S 1. It is across the highway from the present Bev Smith Kia Dealership at 5655 U.S. 1.<\/p>\n
The complex will include an indoor showroom, a repair facility and a car wash in a building that will have a maximum height of 25 feet. The site plan also calls for 487 parking spaces to display vehicles and for customers and staff.<\/p>\n
The site plan hearing Monday night did not detail the expected amount of the new construction investment.<\/p>\n
