SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. (CNN\/Gray News) \u2014 Newly released body camera video from Florida authorities shows deputies responding to an alligator attack that killed a woman.<\/p>\n
The victim, identified as 31-year-old Brittany Clark of Orlando, was in about 3 feet of water when an alligator attacked her, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said.<\/p>\n
The body camera video from the Seminole County Sheriff\u2019s Office shows a deputy running through a swampy area to get to the murky Econlockhatchee River, where Clark was attacked.<\/p>\n
A witness directs the deputy to the victim, whose body has been blurred out.<\/p>\n
FWC said a statewide drought is keeping water levels lower than normal, including the area of the Econlockhatchee River where the attack occurred. Despite the low water levels, alligators can quickly disappear, and those watching for alligators while cooling off in bodies of water can easily lose visibility.<\/p>\n
Clark was attacked while swimming with her boyfriend, Chance Allison, and other friends, WESH reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n Allison stepped in to help, trying to get her out of the alligator\u2019s mouth, according to officials.<\/p>\n Multiple 911 calls released Monday detailed the frantic response. The caller described Clark\u2019s injuries, saying, \u201cBoth her arms are dislocated … off basically … one arm is completely off.\u201d<\/p>\n Clark died on the way to the hospital.<\/p>\n
