(WCJB) &#8211; Starting Friday, people with disabilities can take part in Florida\u2019s longest dedicated disability-accessible zipline offered only at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ziphailequarry.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ziphailequarry.com\/\">Zip at Haile Quarry in Newberry<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Built to be more than a typical ziplining course<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Owners Karl Spain and Casey Glan said their goal was to create a ziplining experience designed to be inclusive from the start, an initiative that began even before they purchased the land.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The course features six lines, including Jordan\u2019s Jamboree, an ADA-compliant line created in memory of Glan\u2019s son, who died at age 4 from cerebral palsy. Family members said he\u2019s remembered as a thrill-loving little boy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cSo when we began dating, and she told me this story, and she got involved with me on this project, we decided to build one of these lines \u2026 that her son would have been able to ride on,\u201d Spain said.<\/p>\n<p>Accessibility from arrival to launch<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The course was made ADA-compliant by improving transitions starting before riders even get out of their vehicles. The experience then continues with accessible ramps, golf cart rides, and solar-powered lifts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">U.S. veteran and leg amputee Robert Jones was the first to try the Jordan\u2019s Jamboree ADA line.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cAnd a lot of new amputees or disabled don\u2019t go out because they\u2019re afraid or they don\u2019t want to be a burden,\u201d Jones said. \u201cThey don\u2019t know the company\u2019s put all this effort in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jones said he and his companion, \u201cBobbles,\u201d share these outings online through Bobbles Great Adventures to show others what\u2019s possible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cAs an amputee, yes, a disability will limit your ability to have adventures, but it doesn\u2019t stop you from having them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcjb.com\/newsletter\/\" title=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Click here<\/a> to subscribe to our newsletter.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WCJB.
