ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 Across the country, fireworks lit up the sky to celebrate America\u2019s 250th anniversary. In Orlando, thousands of people gathered at Lake Eola for the 49th annual Fireworks at the Fountain.<\/p>\n
Despite a rainy afternoon, the skies cleared and families spent the holiday together, as others showed off their patriotism. Attendees enjoyed a family-friendly zone, local food vendors, and live entertainment.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a very exciting anniversary and adds an extra sparkle to the holiday,\u201d Winter Park resident Anastasia McTague said.<\/p>\n
The Orlando Concert Band produced a custom musical score synchronized to the fireworks display.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou don\u2019t get 250 years of independence every day, so it\u2019s a special time,\u201d Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said. \u201cIt\u2019s exciting to have our annual show during an important year.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was Zambelli Fireworks\u2019 20th year designing the Lake Eola show.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot only is it an adrenaline rush setting it off, cause I\u2019m out on the barge setting it off, but just to know that so many people get excited for the firework show and I\u2019m the one that gets to make it happen, it\u2019s cool,\u201d Zambelli Fireworks subcontractor Ben Dehart said.<\/p>\n
