TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Hundreds filled Kleman Plaza Green for the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra\u2019s Star Spangled concert.<\/p>\n
\u201cSwells me with pride, this is without a doubt the greatest nation on earth,\u201d one man said.<\/p>\n
Pride, patriotism and purpose filling the hearts of Americans here in the capital city for the 250th celebration of the nation. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe always like to be central to anything that\u2019s going on in the community and especially a celebration like this of our country\u2019s 250th so it\u2019s really exciting for us to do this,\u201d Amanda Stringer said. <\/p>\n
Independence Day bringing unity through music, food and fellowship. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re ready to celebrate and honor America.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m very proud of being an American. I\u2019m also a military brat and I\u2019ve been a Tallahassee resident for 38-40 years and everything\u2019s been great,\u201d one person said. <\/p>\n
From children laughing and playing games to older generations taking a quiet moment to reflect on the history of America. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just such a joy to celebrate 250 years. It\u2019s quite a milestone and I\u2019m a little older so I was here when we had the bicentennial and it\u2019s a wonderful just a thing of history,\u201d another attendee said. <\/p>\n
Watching with hope, gratitude and a message for the future generations to take with them. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very important that our young people learn what actually took place. We\u2019re not a perfect people, we\u2019re not a perfect nation but we are striving for that perfection,\u201d a third person said.<\/p>\n
