SUNRISE, Fla.\u202f\u2013\u202fFlorida\u00a0Panthers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager\u00a0Bill Zito\u00a0announced today that the club has agreed to\u00a0terms with\u00a0defenseman\u00a0Donovan\u00a0Sebrango\u00a0on a\u00a0one-year contract.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cDonovan\u00a0is a\u00a0sturdy\u00a0and mobile\u00a0young defenseman who was able to make a\u00a0positive impact on our blueline last season,\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0Zito. \u201cWe\u2019re happy to have him back for another season.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sebrango,\u00a024,\u00a0skated in\u00a042\u00a0NHL\u00a0games in 2025-26\u00a0between the Ottawa Senators and\u00a0Florida Panthers,\u00a0notching eight\u00a0assists (0-8-8).\u00a0He ranked third among Florida defensemen with 76 hits.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The\u00a06-foot-2, 223-pound\u00a0native of\u00a0Ottawa,\u00a0Ontario has competed in 44 career NHL games between Florida (2025-26) and Ottawa (2024-25 to 2025-26).\u00a0He has also appeared in\u00a0220 American Hockey League (AHL) games between the Grand Rapids Griffins (2020-21 to 2022-23) and Belleville Senators (2023-24 to 2024-25),\u00a0amassing\u00a045 points (13-32-45) and 204 penalty minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Prior to his professional career,\u00a0Sebrango\u00a0appeared in two Ontario Hockey League (OHL) seasons with the Kitchener Rangers from 2018-19 to 2019-20, producing 56 points (13-43-56). He was selected to play in the 2019-20 CHL Top Prospects Game.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On the international stage,\u00a0Sebrango\u00a0served as an alternate captain for Canada at the 2022 IIHF U20 World Junior Championship, posting two assists (0-2-2) over seven games\u00a0en\u00a0route to capturing the gold medal.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sebrango\u00a0was originally selected in the third round (63rd overall) by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2020 NHL Draft.\u00a0<\/p>\n
