JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 A man accused of killing a 6-year-old girl in 2024 <\/a>has pleaded guilty to second degree murder and aggravated child abuse.<\/p>\n

Jahrasha Golson<\/a> was found dead on a bed inside a house on Allison Street in February 2024. <\/p>\n

A medical examiner said the 6-year-old died of multiple blunt force traumas and poisoning from a drug found in over-the-counter allergy medicines.<\/p>\n

According to an arrest report, Tyrone Golson was Jahrasha\u2019s legal guardian and said during an interview at police headquarters he had \u201cbeen in her life since she was 5 months old.\u201d<\/p>\n

A News4JAX investigation found Tyrone Golson was listed as Jahrasha\u2019s father on her birth certificate. <\/p>\n

In August 2024, Golson was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Jahrasha. At one point he was facing an upgraded charge of first-degree murder, which was later reduced. <\/p>\n

He was also accused of aggravated manslaughter of a child and aggravated child abuse.<\/p>\n

Golson\u2019s arrest report says the Department of Children and Families tried to do a wellness check on Jahrasha a month before she died after the office got an anonymous call that Golson was possibly abusing her.<\/p>\n

That report also said Golson did not allow DCF to inspect Jahrasha for any physical, mental, or emotional injuries.<\/p>\n

Golson is scheduled to be sentenced next month. <\/p>\n
