CASSELBERRY, Fla. \u2014\u00a0A crash in Casselberry killed two\u00a0people and one other person was sent to the hospital for treatment on Tuesday, according to law enforcement.<\/p>\n
The Seminole County Sheriff\u2019s Office said the crash happened after a suspected drug trafficker tried speeding away from law enforcement.<\/p>\n
The southbound lanes of Highway 17-92 near the intersection of Sunnytown Road were closed for several hours after the crash.<\/p>\n
People who live and work nearby said they heard a terrible boom noise right around noon on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
It all started about nine miles up the road near State Road 417, when law enforcement tried to pull over a suspected fentanyl trafficker, and instead the driver took off heading south on Highway 17-92, reaching speeds at times more than 100 miles per hour, according to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
Deputies did not chase the car out of concern for the public, they stated, but did keep an eye on the suspect through their aviation unit.<\/p>\n
While heading south on Highway 17-92, the suspect\u2019s car hit another car near Sunnytown Road, same both people in that car died. The suspect was taken into custody and to the hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
