CENTRAL FLORIDA \u2014 Whether it’s because they are not getting paid or they have had their their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program<\/a> (SNAP) benefits cut off, many Central Floridians are finding themselves in search of food assistance.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, there are a variety of food pantries and banks that regularly provide help to local residents in need. These nonprofits do this all the time, even when the federal government is not shut down. But, many of them rely, at least in part, on federal funding.<\/p>\n

Concerns about added stress on charities from SNAP payment stoppages are widespread..<\/p>\n

The following list is representative of reputable services available in Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia counties, according to Second Harvest Food Bank<\/a> sources and other research.<\/p>\n

It is extensive, but does not necessarily include every food bank and pantry in the area.<\/p>\n

Some of the nonprofits listed below to have income and\/or geographic restrictions, so be aware of that.<\/p>\n
